Community Outreach
Civitas Cares
WE BUILD COMMUNITIES. WE ALSO SERVE THEM.
At Civitas Senior Living, volunteering is part of our passion. A servant’s heart is present in everything we do. It drives us. It gives us the energy to fulfill what we believe is our purpose — to serve seniors with a higher level of care and provide them with the best quality of life possible.
PASSIONATE SERVICE. PASSIONATE CLEANLINESS. PASSIONATE CARE.
The Walk to End Alzheimer's
We see the devastating effects Alzheimer’s and dementia can have on our residents and their loved ones on a daily basis. However, we also believe there’s hope. Every year, our employees volunteer for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s — because we believe The First Survivor is out there and that a World Without Alzheimer’s Disease® is in our future.
Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity is a global nonprofit housing organization working toward the vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live. At Civitas, we also believe that having a place to call home is important. That’s why we’ve teamed up with Habitat. We want to reach outside our communities and help people in the surrounding neighborhoods understand that feeling of home.
TALA Advocacy Day
Senior advocacy is at the core of who we are at Civitas Senior Living. In fact, it’s why we exist. Our passion is improving assisted living and memory care for all seniors everywhere — not just in our own communities. That’s why our employees participate in Texas Assisted Living Association’s (TALA) Advocacy Day. In 2019, we were honored to be named TALA’s Legislative Organization of the Year.
Pride Events
Whatever your passion, do it with pride. At Civitas Senior Living, both the residents we serve and our staff represent a diverse and beautiful mix of individuals. We are committed to building a more inclusive culture that welcomes people from all walks of life with affirmation and acceptance. That’s why we participate in LGBTQ+ Pride events.
Trinity Hash Bash
Civitas Senior Living is proud to be a Fort Worth, Texas based company. Every year, along with the Tarrant Regional Water District, we participate in the Trinity Trash Bash, collecting thousands of pounds of refuse along the Trinity River. It’s our way of showing our love to our hometown and supporting its natural beauty.
Civitas Cares Project
Volunteering for Seniors and Team Members Strengthens Community Bonds
In addition to our ongoing commitments, we participate in several different outreach projects throughout the year and promote volunteering for seniors in our communities. We stay in tune with the needs of the local areas we serve, and our residents and staff enjoy the opportunity to contribute. No matter the size of the project, these outreach opportunities always have a big impact on everyone involved.
During the 2019 holiday season, the Civitas Senior Living home office packed 100 Operation Christmas Child boxes for Samaritan’s Purse. Operation Christmas Child is an international project whose mission is to provide Christmas gifts full of essential items and toys to children affected by war, poverty, natural disasters, famine, and disease. In true Civitas fashion, we also included Christmas cards with handwritten notes and, of course, lots of love, affection, and well wishes.
Providing opportunities for seniors to volunteer their time is another example of the personalized activities we orchestrate. Residents regularly organize back-to-school drives and non-perishable goods donations. They also use craft time to make treats and goods for local shelters and non-profits.
