Welcome to a vibrant community where creativity has no age limits. March was a whirlwind of creative activities for seniors at Legacy Oaks of Azle. Our residents have endless self-expression and personal growth opportunities, so their calendars are always full!
These three events are just a few of the exciting activities our residents, loved ones, and caregivers have participated in recently. Each day brings new choices for them to take advantage of. We’re excited to share the details—nothing makes us happier than seeing the joy on their faces.
A First Responders Cookout Expressed Our Gratitude
On March 5, Legacy Oaks of Azle honored local heroes. Area firefighters, police officers, paramedics, and emergency medical personnel joined us for a delicious lunchtime cookout. Attendees grabbed a hot dog, chips, and a drink, allowing them to enjoy a tasty meal while on duty. They were welcome to stay and share quality time with Legacy Oaks’ residents.
This event expressed our sincere gratitude to the dedicated first responders who serve the Azle community tirelessly. Our residents and team hope this event served as a small token of appreciation for their selfless dedication to the community.
We Rolled Out the Red Carpet for an Oscar Viewing Party!
Our residents were delighted when we treated them to an unforgettable Oscar viewing party on March 10. Glitz, glamor, and a red carpet served as centerpieces for excited residents dressed to impress on this exciting day.
They embraced the spirit of the silver screen and “put on the Ritz” for the occasion. The highlights included photo ops with rhinestone-encrusted sunglasses, feather boas, and miniature, personalized replicas of Hollywood Walk of Fame stars!
“We had an absolute blast at our Oscar viewing party,” remarked Nichol Wesson, Executive Director at Legacy Oaks of Azle. “Our residents were the stars of the show, showing off their hilarious and charming personalities. We adore every moment with them!”
Residents enjoyed the show as they exchanged predictions, discussed their favorite films, and shared memories of classic cinema moments.
An Egg-ceptionally Fun Easter Celebration
Legacy Oaks of Azle hosted an incredible family event this past Easter, with the Easter Bunny, residents, loved ones, and caregivers in attendance.
The Easter Bunny interviewed residents and team members about their favorite Easter memories. Stories about new church outfits, egg hunts, and chocolate bunnies were told. Some residents remembered their mothers making their favorite foods, and others reminisced on the delight of finding the “golden egg” during their egg hunts.
“I love getting the Easter baskets ready for my grandchildren to come, ” said one Legacy Oaks of Azle resident. The festivities included music, dancing, delicious food, and many photo ops. And, of course, bunny ears were bobbing up and down everywhere!
