The Wellness department at Civitas is affectionately known as the “Legendary Wellness Team” because their passion for our residents is not only apparent in everything they do — it drives them to help Civitas accomplish bigger and better things in the senior living industry. From caregivers and medication aides, to LVNs and RNs, to wellness directors and specialists, our Wellness team is made up of a large group of dedicated individuals who love to serve our residents. 

Working for the Wellness team at Civitas Senior Living is a different experience than you find in other senior living communities and healthcare roles. Our Wellness staff focus strongly on the personalized, relational aspect of care, taking into consideration the whole person — mind, body, and spirit — so that each resident can live and enjoy life to the fullest. Additionally, Civitas provides its Wellness team with all the tools they need to ensure our residents receive an excellent professional standard of care.

Highlights of  Civitas’ Wellness Department include risk management, extensive access to important data, and internal growth opportunities. In risk management, our team uses innovative, preventive measures to mitigate the number of injuries or accidents. They also use a proprietary data collection process to gather considerable data on each resident, which they can easily access to help with decision-making at any point in the day. Additionally, exceptional effort is duly rewarded — several members of Civitas’ Wellness leadership team were promoted from within.

The Activities department is the heartbeat of Civitas. Our Activities programs are the lifeblood of our communities, and our Activities team members are the cheerleaders, go-getters, social butterflies, group exercise leaders, game facilitators, friendship matchmakers, travel agents, and the overall life of the party — which they also planned. For the employees in our Activities department, making a difference while having fun is a way of life. The job involves more than calling bingo or event and party planning. Activities team members plan and direct the entire social life of the community, ensuring the lives of our residents are exciting, engaging, positive, and upbeat. Our activities programs are where many of our residents discover and maintain their passion and sense of identity, transforming their senior living experience. Not only does our Activities department offer a fast-paced environment with plenty of personal interactions and work variety, it offers the opportunity to change lives.

At Civitas, we keep activities fresh, innovative, and engaging through a unique variety of company-wide programs and the use of technology. Our programs include Ageless Grace, a mind-body fitness program taught at our communities every day, and My Miracle Moment, a program where once a month, we create a special, memorable experience for one of our residents. On the technology side, we use Sagely to save time on administrative tasks, provide meaningful data insights, and to keep residents and their loved ones connected. Several of our communities also incorporate Alexa. Additionally, Activities team members have access to skills and management development programs, and we frequently reward initiative and hard work by promoting from within.
