Our Activity Director Christopher Perez is amazing! He’s always finding volunteer opportunities for our senior residents, and they just love giving back to their local community. Recently, a group of them volunteered their time to help a local charity, Kids’ Meals, by preparing packaged meals for families in need in the greater Houston area.
The group was excited to have new volunteer shirts to wear for this event – and for future gatherings that will also help local causes. Christopher’s energy and enthusiasm for his role are contagious, and our residents and team are thrilled to have him!
Our Senior Living Volunteers Love Keeping Busy
Christopher says that planning future volunteer activities for The Avenues of Fort Bend residents is part of his everyday work routine. “I like to think of volunteer opportunities daily and gather information from our residents about possible future activities,” he explains. “I look around the area for causes and projects that our residents may enjoy as an outing.”
“It’s really important to stay engaged in our local community,” Christopher adds. “There are always worthy causes to support and ways we can give back. Plus, we get more chances to wear our new shirts!”
“Christopher works hard to find engaging projects and worthwhile causes for the residents to get involved in,” shares our Executive Director, Grecia Bolton Norman. “He has been employed by our management company Civitas Senior Living for seven years now, and has worked at The Avenues of Fort Bend since 2019. He moved into the role of Activity Director last year and has been amazing with our volunteers in senior living.”
