One hopes for excellent service and kindness in any service industry, but it’s especially important in a senior home. Help is never hard to find at Alexis Pointe Senior Living of Wimberley. The community knows seniors deserve the best care and attention. That’s why stars like Maintenance Director Jason Riha should be celebrated.
“Jason is more than a valued team member to us; he’s truly a beacon of dedication and care,” shares Alexis Pointe’s Executive Director, Theresa Williams. “Residents and families adore him for a reason. He is the epitome of putting others first.”
Jason leaves a positive impression on everyone he meets. Whether addressing concerns, lending a helping hand, or going above and beyond (like when he brought homemade strawberry preserves), Jason is always there to make life better for residents and guests.
“He always approaches a situation with a ‘YES’ attitude and genuine service spirit,” says Theresa.
Residents appreciate his smile, fun attitude, and kindness. When asked what he loves about his job, Jason replied, “Whether it’s fixing a leaky faucet, painting a wall, or taking a walk around the courtyard with a resident, I approach every task with professionalism, passion, and terrible dad jokes.
“What I love most is knowing that I have made a difference in so many lives, not only by keeping folks safe and comfortable but also by spreading laughter and positive energy. It’s a joy to see residents so happy and content in their home and community, and gratifying to have played a part in it.”
He also wants residents to know that his goal is to make them feel as at home here as they did in the home they raised their families in. Residents agree that Jason does just that and improves their senior home. Help from Jason always comes with a smile.
“He always has a smile and is never too busy to do the task you have for him or just stop to visit,” says resident Janice. Ninety-three-year-old Barb was amazed to see him quickly put her rollator/walker together and said he was “handsome, friendly, and efficient.”
Catherine S. shared that Jason has a “precious personality and is super willing to help anyone.” He has fixed many things in her apartment and even drove her to the doctor and lunch.
Outside of work, Jason enjoys playing the guitar, cooking (especially barbeque), and driving his antique car, “Gladys.” He also likes spending time with his three dogs: two boxers and a Plott hound.
“Jason is our hero every single day, and we are beyond grateful for him,” says Theresa.
