Azle Senior Joins Local Dance Class in Celebration of Her Ballet Legacy

We spinned and twirled your way over to Azle late last year!

Legacy Oaks of Azle celebrated a significant moment in the life of resident Lena. A former ballet dancer and dance studio owner, Lena reconnected with her passion for dance by participating in a ballet class with students from the Encore School of Dance in Saginaw.

The event brought together generations of dancers as Lena learned a small ballet combination alongside the young students. This collaboration was made possible by Encore, which regularly partners with Legacy Oaks to create meaningful opportunities for residents.

Photos and memorabilia from her years as a dancer and studio owner were displayed at Legacy Oaks prior to the event to honor Lena’s rich history in the world of dance. The community also presented Lena with ballet attire, including shoes, to make the occasion even more memorable.

“This is a meaningful opportunity to celebrate Lena’s life and passion for dance,” said Nichol Wesson, Executive Director of Legacy Oaks of Azle. “Seeing her engage with something so significant from her past is inspiring to all of us.”
