Spring ushered in a very special milestone for Denny and Nancy B., who celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at Arabella of Red Oak. The ‘Miracle Moment’ – which is a special program by Arabella that checks off residents’ wish lists – played out in front of an outstanding turnout of over 200 family and friends.
Among those honoring the longtime lovebirds were members of the Dallas Fire Department and Dallas Honor Guard.
In 2015, Denny, a retired chaplain, was presented a Lifetime Achievement Award from The Friends of the Dallas Fire Rescue Department. He spent more than thirty years supporting local first responders in that role. The Honor Guard rang a bell six times — one for each decade they were married. Nancy and her groom also cut their cake together, just as they did so long ago.
Denny currently lives in memory care, though the unique and comprehensive care options provided by Arabella of Red Oak allow his wife to live nearby independently. The two still see each other often.
“We are glad to host this event,” said Amanda Barron, Executive Director. “The anniversary and chaplain ceremony was a beautiful way to honor Denny’s work and his life-long commitment to Nancy.”
“We’re happy to provide a place for hundreds of people to show up and express their gratitude for this couple.”
