Residents at Arabella of Athens recently demonstrated their unwavering support for their local community, by participating in the Civitas Cares program.
Through Civitas Cares, residents don’t just donate; they actively participate in selecting and championing causes and ministries that positively impact their surrounding area. Each month, they eagerly anticipate the opportunity to extend a helping hand to those in need, showing their commitment and dedication to the community.
Residents chose to support the Athens Police Department by providing stuffed animals to accompany officers in their squad cars.
The significance of these stuffed animals extends beyond their cuddly appearance. They serve as comforting companions for children during distressing situations, such as accidents or emergency calls. By providing stuffed animals for police vehicles, Arabella of Athens residents aim to bring solace and reassurance to children during times of crisis.
“Our residents were deeply moved by the idea of offering comfort to children during difficult moments,” remarks Pam Holcomb, Executive Director at Arabella of Athens. “It’s also our small way of expressing gratitude to the Athens Police Department for their dedicated service.”
